Straumann AG announces Mr. Andreas Petermann as the new Regulatory Affairs Project Manager effective August 1, 2008. Mr. Petermann previously was the Regulatory Affairs Manager for 3M ESPE. Straumann is the #2 global leader in manufacturing dental implants. The company also makes prosthetics, products for dental tissue regeneration, and the tools and instruments to help install its products.

Ipsen SA announces Joel Richard, PhD as the new Head of Drug Product Development effective August 1, 2008. Dr. Richard previously was the Head of Pharmaceutical Development–Biotech for Merck Serono International. Ipsen develops pharmaceutical products that target oncology, endocrinology, and neuromuscular disorders.

AstraZeneca PLC Pharmaceuticals announces Mr. Issam Abu-Ghaida as the new Area Finance Director-MEA effective August 1, 2008. Mr. Abu-Ghaida previously was the Finance Manager for Eli Lilly. One of the world's top pharmaceutical firms, AstraZeneca specializes in drugs for gastrointestinal, cardiovascular, and oncology therapeutic areas.

Syngenta AG Crop Protection announces Ms. Gabriele Willenbrink as the new Head of Global Logistics effective August 1, 2008. Ms. Willenbrink was Logistics Procurement for Lanxess. Syngenta produces crop protection products (insecticides, herbicides, fungicides), field crop seeds (soybeans), vegetable seeds (corn, beans, tomatoes), and flowers.

British American Tobacco PLC announces Ms. Noella Mukoka as the new Finance Director-Democratic Republic of Congo effective August 1, 2008. Ms. Mukoka previously was the Head of Financial Management for Vodacom Congo. British American Tobacco is the world's #2 tobacco firm. It sells nearly 855 billion cigarettes in more than 190 countries. It’s international cigarette brands include Dunhill, Kent, Lucky Strike, and Pall Mall. It also makes loose tobacco and regional cigarette brands.

Lonza Group Ltd. Life Science Ingredients announces Ms. Donna Zhang as the new General Manager-China effective August 1, 2008. Ms. Zhang was the Managing Director for Firmenich Aromatics China. Lonza is active in biotechnology: it uses microbial fermentation and biotransformation to produce fine chemical intermediates and is involved in mammalian cell culture research. It also produces organic fine chemicals and performance chemicals (biocides and oleochemicals).

Lonza Group Ltd. Life Science Ingredients announces Mr. Austin Lu as the new Business Unit Head-Biocides-China effective August 1, 2008. Mr. Lu was the Marketing Director for General Electric-Plastics. Novartis AG Pharmaceuticals announces Mr. Shahin Kimiagar as the new Country Manager-Iran effective August 1, 2008. Mr. Kimiagar previously was Business Unit Manager-Oncology for F. Hoffman-La Roche Pharmaceuticals. Novartis Pharmaceuticals focuses its product line on a range of ailments including cardiovascular, endocrine, and respiratory diseases, gastrointestinal complaints, central nervous system disorders, cancer and blood disorders, eye disorders, bone and joint conditions, and transplanted organ rejection.

ICON PLC Central Laboratories announces Mr. Guy Dewil as the new Chief Operating Officer effective August 1, 2008. Mr. Dewil previously was the Chief Operating Officer at BARC Global Central Lab. ICON is a contract research organization (CRO) providing drugmakers and medical device companies around the world with a broad range of services for their product candidates' clinical trials.

Stiefel Laboratories Inc. announces Mr. Abel Sierra as the new Human Resources Director-Latin America effective August 1, 2008. Mr. Sierra was México and Central America Human Resources Director for Boehringer Ingelheim. Stiefel Laboratories products treat a variety of dermatological ailments including acne, psoriasis, fungal infections, and even warts.

Millipore Inc. Bioscience proclaims Mr. Robert Isaac as the new Strategic Marketing Communications Director effective August 4, 2008. Mr. Isaac previously was the Marketing Communications Director for Avery Dennison. Millipore is a leader in membrane separation technology, which is used for fluid analysis, identification, and purification.

Baxter International Inc. Medication Delivery-IV Therapy announces Mr. Ronald Mack as the new Research & Development Programs Director effective August 8, 2008. Mr. Mack previously was the Program Manager-Pharmaceutical Products for Abbott Laboratories. Baxter International makes treatments for those who suffer from cancer, kidney disease, immune deficiencies, and other diseases. It is a leading maker of intravenous (IV) supplies and systems via its Medication Delivery segment.
